Mercedes & Josh from Cambridgeshire, married at the pretty church of St Hugh of Lincoln in Buckden Towers formally the Palace of Buckden, where the famous Queen Katherine of Aragon was held during the Kings Great Matter in 1533, and then on to the pretty Thatch Barn Wedding Venue in Yelling, Cambridgeshire. Situated on a working farm, that cultivates Daffodils, it was the perfect venue for a classic Spring Wedding. The sun was even out and shinning on this glorious 14th April in 2018.
The loved-up pair, met seven years ago when Josh was in his first year at Plymouth University and where later, the smitten Mercedes, whom Josh thought was pretty, cute & sweet, joined to study Marine Biology, of course, encouraged by meeting the handsome, smart and kind Josh, whom Mercedes describes to also have that slightly cheeky streak. Five years later, after several bunny rabbits and the beloved restoration of the VW beetle, on the 28th December 2016, Josh finally plucked up the courage to propose to Mercedes whilst at Ambleside in the Lake District, and of course she said YES!
Mercedes looked ravishing in her ‘wild card’ dress, after visiting several shops, and finally said ‘Yes to the dress’ with the Amanda Dress by Pronovias.
Josh & Mercedes reminisced about their funniest moment of the day, when Josh’s ring wouldn’t quite fit on his finger and of course the infamous Best men’s speech, from Josh’s two older brothers, who spoke about his traits and qualities, recalling stories about his clumsiness. They both said that they were quiet relieved when the first dance was completed and they could relax into the party once all their nerves had gone.
