When Samantha & Jon met in a pizza shop on a bank holiday Sunday, little did they know, they were truly meant for each other and would be marrying at Vasilias Nikoklis Inn Cyprus, a sleepy beautiful rustic country house in the hills of Cyprus, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
Samantha describes Jon as funny, hardworking and handsome and couldn’t resist saying yes to his romantic proposal at Glacier Point Yosemite, on holiday, after a scary drive up the mountain. “He was sweating buckets, I just thought he was worried about the dangerous drive, not a proposal”
The wonderful couple searched high and low for a rustic traditional wedding venue in Cyprus . “We found Vasilias Nikoklis online and instantly fell in love with its homely rustic feel. When we visited it, to book, it didn’t disappoint, and we knew straight away it was the perfect place, Christina and her staff did everything they could on the day, and the run up, especially as we exceeded numbers by having 96 guests”
“Our favourite part of the wedding day was the first dance. We knew most people would love the song, but the reaction from everyone joining in was amazing! It was all we could of ever dreamed of! “
Jon describes Samantha as funny, caring and beautiful and these words were ever evident in his reaction to his beautiful bride walking down the dreamy aisle at Vasilias Nikoklis Inn, Cyprus. “My wedding dress was found in a local boutique, on a day when I went for a ‘quick look’ and ended up finding the one. The designer was Waters which I had already looked at when we originally got engaged the year previous, it seemed like fate that it was the same designer as the first wedding dress I liked.. it took me about 6-7 months to find the perfect dress.“
The pair brought each other gifts in the morning and just by sheer chance they had brought each other identical matching watches, without knowing either one had done the same. They definitely have the same tastes.
“We used a company called ‘wooden crafted gifts’ for our table names & name places. These were laser cut and wooden which completely fit with the theme of the venue. All the guests loved them and took them home as a favour.
For our signage we used Cherilee from Richie Roo design Cyprus. Who was absolutely amazing throughout my whole planning. She was so positive and excited with me, and her ideas were amazing.. the signage was everything I hoped for and more. and I can’t thank her enough.
For the flowers we used enchanted flower lounge, they were amazing with all my ideas, and photos and the bouquets on the day were perfect, exactly what I wanted.”
“The funniest moment was during the speech the best men got our friend Michael Smallwood to come up and give best dressed corsages out. As he often hands our best dressed awards on Facebook to people! “
