The Beautiful Jess & James married on a beautiful day in August in the fabulous Rivervale Bar, Yately, Hampshire.

1. Tell us about where and when you first both first met and What were your first impressions of each other when you first met?
We first met when we were at secondary school, we were friends for a number of years and eventually started dating when we reached sixth form.
First impressions of Jess were... pretty, funny and caring. She was never too far away from causing trouble with Rachel and Ashleigh!
What always sticks in my mind when I think about our time at school was Jess was always late, despite living opposite the school. I would have to drive to school and I would often see Jess having to jump over the gate to get in to class on time.
I remember first seeing James when we were 13/14. He was in an ICT classroom which then ended up being our form room when we were in sixth form. I thought he was very good looking. I loved his eyes! But at the time he was dating my friend. Luckily that only lasted 2 weeks! 4 years of friendship later, we started dating. James and I would talk for hours on msn. A lot of the time we would chat/ moan about the people we were dating.
2. Tell us about who proposed to who and where did it happen?
I proposed to Jess in New York, March 2016. I didn’t have the ring before I flew out. I made the decision that I would propose to Jess during a helicopter trip we had planned. However, I had to first go and pick up the ring I had picked from Tiffany, New York. One evening before we were due to go out for dinner I told Jess I would go to a restaurant to make a reservation. During that window I ran from the hotel to Tiffany. Where I picked up the ring and ran back to the hotel, hid the ring and we went out for dinner.... luckily Jess didn’t realise I hadn’t booked the restaurant we ended up at. The following day just as we were getting rid to board the helicopter I dropped to one knee and asked Jess to marry me! I can still remember just how nervous and exited I was in the moment.
3. Give us three words each to describe each other and what they mean to you?
Bride: Jess is caring, loving and beautiful. Jess inspires me each day to do better and together we’ve already achieved so much.
Groom: determined, caring and romantic, my best friend.
4. How did you find and choose your wedding venue in Hampshire?
I (Jess) really wanted a barn. I love the look and feel of Barn weddings. I searched barns within an hour from home and found 3. Rivervale just seemed perfect. I fell in love with the gardens. The outdoor ceremony area was added 1 month before our wedding. It was the cherry on top!
5. Tell us about your wedding dress; the designer, how long it took you to find the one?
The designer was Pronovias and the shop was Marshmallow Brides in St Albans. This was the first shop I looked in. I bought it very early, which probably wasn’t a good idea because I started having doubts in the January before our wedding day. However, once it had been fitted
to me, I tried it on and fell in love with it all over again.
6. Tell us about what the Groomsmen wore?
The groomsmen wore Navy 3 piece suits with silver ties and pocket squares, completed with dark brown shoes
7. Was there any surprises? Tell us more..
The biggest surprise was the Outdoor wedding arch at our venue. It’s called the Spinney. We didn’t know this was being built until a month before the wedding when it was finished. We made the decision to get married outside, which was perfect! The weather was also a big relief/ surprise... the day before it was 35 degrees and the day after it rained allllllllll day! Our wedding day was 23 degrees. We were so lucky!
