“Today is the best day of my life by a million miles, I’m so proud to call you my wife and I really do promise to look after you and love you for the rest of my life”
Amy and Alex met at a Halloween college party in 2012, and after solidifying their relationship with a year of texting, and car rides, and Amy bagging a job at McDonalds were Alex already worked the pair became inseparable, travelling the world together. It is so clear to us as West Sussex wedding videographers how perfect this pair are, continually pushing the other, reaching their aspirations and goals as a team - Alex would have definitely not explored as much of the world if it wasn’t for Amy. We were so incredibly privileged to capture their wedding day.
Amy started her day getting ready at the stunning Pelham House set in the historic, quaint East Sussex town of Lewes. She was surrounded by her friends and family as she got ready for her long-awaited day. Ground Films captured the morning as Amy got ready and wrote a beautiful card to her soon to be husband who was getting ready inside the main house with his eagerly excited groomsmen, the beers had been opened and the morale was very high. The beautiful card Amy wrote Alex can be heard throughout their wedding film above.
West Sussex Wedding cinematographers captured Alex giving his groomsmen some truly special gifts – personalised cufflinks. He was then helped into his suit by his best man, whom used to be his childhood nemesis, it’s safe to say that is no longer the case! Alex wore a beautifully crafted blue suit with a grey tartan waist coat and accented with deep forest green tie and pocket square.
Amy was calm as she was having her hair crafted into an incredible updo by her very talented friend. The sweeping braid, interwoven with a sparkly head piece cascaded around her head and fell into a sweeping curled ponytail – a nod to her everyday childhood hair. Amy got ready into her beautiful A-line dress which had a bodice entirely embellished in beads, and a skirt which had subtle sequins dotted about through the layers of tulle. As she prepared to put on her jewellery, she was greeted with a present from her soon to be husband. Ground Films captured Amy and Alex both receiving the most precious and stunning gifts from one another, both of which you can see in their wedding film above.
Amy walked hand in hand with her very proud father down the beautiful aisle at Pelham House on a very hot, June Friday. The ceremony looked stunning with bright pink, purple and red florals interspersed with greens, creating such a vibrant atmosphere. This colour scheme was truly beautiful, and it continued in everything throughout the day. After a tear-jerking ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed celebratory drinks with their friends in the stunning Pelham House gardens.
Wedding Videographers, Ground Films captured all the stunning details within the reception room: the candles, table names, wooden place names and endless florals – you name it we captured it! Amy had done such a brilliant job of creating such a beautiful theme and making her day so stunningly aesthetic everywhere you looked.
Soon it was time for dinner where the couple enjoyed both hilarious and heart-warming speeches from, Alex’s best man Steve, Amy’s dad and Alex himself, all of which you can hear throughout their wedding film above.
Throughout the day we were able to capture some stunning shots of the couple around the grounds and at the ever-impressive Lewes Castle. The pair were just so beautifully natural together making each other laugh non-stop. The night continued in this way as they cut their cake and ate some very striking macarons and took to the dance floor for their first dance. Ground Films left the newlyweds to party the night away with all their loved ones.
We cannot thank Alex and Amy enough for letting us be a part of their special day, and we want to extend out thank you to Isla and all the team at Pelham House and all the incredible suppliers involved:
