It all started on a stunning, sunny morning at St Pierre Marriott Hotel, in Wales. Luiz and Andrew spent the morning with each other as they got ready and saw their wedding design dreams come together on the pristine lawn outside of the hotel. Andrew had always dreamt of a castle wedding and although he couldn’t get his hands on an actual castle due, the Marriott Hotel definitely had the grandeur and decadence of one.
Luiz and Andrew got ready slowly throughout the morning with friends and family by their sides. They stayed together throughout the morning, calming any nerves they may have had, and just enjoying the day and its surroundings. As wedding videographers, we love to capture couples getting ready for their big days, but this was even more special as Luiz (after five showers) and Andrew actually helped each other get ready into their suits. They wore blue suits with matching blue bow ties and varying blue accents, that complimented their colour scheme throughout their day.
The ceremony was set outside in the heat of the August sunshine. Andrew’s mum had definitely out done all expectations with the flowers – surrounding Andrew and Luiz as they got married. The couple had the best entrance into their ceremony with Andrew’s brother leading, stealing the show by expertly and engaging lining the aisle with flower petals. He was the best flower boy we have ever seen, and you have to watch it in their wedding film above. Andrew’s brother was followed by the ‘Pridesmaids’ (HOW AMAZING!) entering one by one and then finally Andrew and Luiz entered with their family by their side. Throughout the ceremony Luiz wouldn’t let go of Andrew, showing how unbreakable this pairs bond is. The ceremony was beautiful, and the St Pierre hotel created the perfect castle-esc backdrop for the pair – achieving all of Andrew’s dreams and wishes.
Set on an opulent golf course, there was plenty of beautiful spots to take Andrew and Luiz for couple shots. Throughout they didn’t stop laughing and smiling. Luiz created a playful atmosphere with his jokes and Andrew created loving moments with his gentleness. As West Sussex wedding videographers we love to capture sunset shots, and today we were in luck. At the last moment the sun peaked through the clouds and greeted us with that golden glow. The epic landscape of St Pierre meant that everywhere you turned there was a great shot opportunity.
As everyone sat down for the wedding breakfast you couldn’t help but notice the impressive cake they had made, which had two layers that were levitating from the bottom layer. It was topped with miniature figures of themselves and laden with chocolate strawberries and Ferrero Rocher. As award winning wedding videographers, we loved to capture all these details that you can look back on and remember to their fullest beauty. Weddings take a lot of effort and time to plan so it is important to us to capture all those little details like the table decorations that you spent meticulously designing in our wedding videos.
Three Pridesmaids made speeches after dinner, all of which shared lots of memories and were very emotional. Some of Luiz’s family were able to get over to the UK from Brazil for Luiz’s big day, but as they don’t speak much English, Luiz’s best friend performed her speech in Portuguese so that they could enjoy all the stories as well as performing it in English. The speeches showed endless love and support to Andrew and Luiz and wished them well for their adventures to come in America.
The day ended with traditional Brazilian cuisine, including cinnamon bananas which Luiz insisted I tried, and I have to say I haven’t had anything like it since, it was a taste sensation, so thank you Luiz for introducing me! We (Ground Films) left as the party continued with Andrew dancing with friends and Luiz enjoying rum – the very best end to their wedding day!
