Tell us about where and when you first both first met?
We actually first met in Tiger Tiger on my (Becs) birthday, but as separate groups and Lew’s lot in fancy dress with no faces on show. Becki still has the photos of her and the girls having selfies with the boys! Then we were introduced at Bestival but Bec had a boyfriend and Lew was in no state to be thinking about girls!! Lew also made an appearance at my house party a year or so later! We were finally properly introduced on a night out in Southsea in January 2016, both fully single(!) by our mutual friend Danny.
Tell us about who proposed to who and where did it happen?
I took Lew to Florence for his 30th birthday present (a few months after, in March 2020) where we had the most incredible weekend exploring the city on bikes, sight seeing in Piza and trying a huge amount of amazing restaurants. We explored Tuscany where Lew secretly called my Dad to ask his permission, then that evening back in Florence we went for an incredible meal at Gunè San Frediano where Lew decided to pop the question. It was a bit of a surprise for him too, as he hadn’t planned to, but after the weekend we’d had together, it felt like the perfect time.
How did you find and choose your wedding venues?
We went straight into lockdown after our engagement, and viewed a few venues online/via Teams but none that really stuck out to us. We went for dinner one evening at the Railway in Botley and drove past what was then called Three Choirs Vineyard. We decided to book a visit just ‘to see’ and absolutely fell in love with it. It was small, intimate and stunning. We decided there and then to put a deposit down!
