Chris and Kate being fellow videographers and dear friends, we felt the pressure filming their wedding. Ground Films captured their fun day at The BarnYard in Kent surrounded by an endless orchard of apple trees.
Kate got ready at a nearby hotel with her gorgeous friends and sister by her side on the morning of her wedding. The tunes were playing, and Kate was having her hair done by her hairdresser sister, making her day even more special and personal. She got into a beautiful form fitting gown, which had lace that cascaded down her back and continued through the train.
Chris being a videographer didn’t know what to do with himself in the morning, he kept saying how he felt like he should be filming things, he now knows what it is like to be on the other side during a wedding day. He got ready leisurely into his suit with his friends and headed to The BarnYard which actually was owned by his Uncle and Auntie, creating a lovely family atmosphere.
Kate and Chris shared a ‘first look’ at the venue privately. It was truly special to capture this beautiful moment from afar and allow Chris and Kate share some moments together before they say their vows. Kate walked up to Chris and tapped him on the shoulder as he turned around there was tears from everyone including Sam their friend and photographer and us at Ground Films.
The ceremony was set outside in the gorgeous sun, surrounded by the landscaped scenery including blooming flowers and ivory tunnels. Chris and Kate had made their own loving, funny and charming vows to one another including some inside jokes and memories. As wedding videographers, we love it when a couple make their own vows as it means that we get to learn more about them and create a really personal and unique wedding film.
After the promises had been made and they were officially married, Kate and Chris celebrated by jumping on that bouncy castle together! The party started from here on out: bouncy castles, owls, outside games and a lot more to come after the wedding breakfast.
During the drinks reception we took Chris and Kate through the endless fields of apples to capture some incredible couple shots of them. The blue skies and the luscious greenery created the most epic surroundings to capture Chris and Kate sharing loving moments together in. You can see all of these shots within their wedding film above.
After heart felt speeches from Chris, Kate and Kates dad, Chris’ best man who sadly couldn’t attend the day performed an excellent comedic speech to camera fully suited and booted (well the top half of him was)! Without even being there he created epic and continued laughs! A glorious spread of BBQ foods were served in abundance and everyone sat down to enjoy their feast.
Being videographers Chris and Kate wanted to make the traditional cake cut a little less traditional – instead they had a piñata cake, which they tried for quite a considerable amount of time to open. After many attempts and the crowd starting to take turns, Chris and Kate managed to rip it and release the goodies inside. Soon after, the dancing commenced and what better way to start to the party than to play ‘Spice up your life’ being the newest “Mr and Mrs Spice”! The fun didn’t stop there, with an evening full of chocolate fountains, a photobooth, an epic magician and a casino. We left Chris and Kate dancing on the dance floor to all the best throwback tunes.
It meant so much to us to be asked by Chris and Kate, being videographers, to film their wedding and we loved capturing their amazing and fun-filled day and seeing them tie the knot together!
