Ella & Tom's Wedding Film at Wotton House

Teenage sweethearts, Ella and Tom finally got married on the 12th of September 2021 at Wotton House, Surrey. Set in the beautiful countryside near Ella and Toms home with the grandest back drops Wotton House was the perfect venue for the couple to celebrate at. This postponed date was actually very special to the couple as it was Ella’s nans 90th birthday, making the celebrations even more apt.

Ground Films were so excited to capture Ella and Toms Day after having it in the diary for multiple years, we knew from Ella’s bubbly personality and Toms caring nature that it would be a day we wouldn’t forget.

It all started when Tom rescued Ella in his car when they were teenagers which led to Tom giving Ella endless lifts to anywhere and everything. From tonnes of epic holidays to the Maldives, Rome, Africa and many more to dinners out and weekend London trips this couple have created endless memories together.

As wedding videographers, we captured Ella getting ready at the impressive Wotton House with her five bestest friends and bridesmaids. The tunes were playing, and the preparations were well underway. Ella was calm and excited, with her contagious laugh travelling down the corridor. Throughout the morning Ella referred to Tom as ‘Teddy’, at first we were quietly thinking ‘have we got his name wrong for all these years’ to later find out this was just his nickname. Its little things like this that showed us how in love Tom and Ella are, they truly are best friends and have the most amazing time in each other’s company.

Ella’s hair was styled into romantic soft curls, adorned with three of the post perfect pale pink roses. Her hair beautifully fell down her back and stunningly framed her face. Ella’s makeup was soft, embellished with subtle smoky eyes and a perfect peachy lip. Ground Films captured the moment where Ella put on her incredible princess dress. It had the most gorgeous lace bodice embellished with delicate beading that caught the light, which continued on the eye-catching sleeves. At the waist tulle fell and created that synonymous stunning ballgown shape that was elongated into a weightless train. The outfit was accompanied by the most beautiful, handcrafted cathedral veil that was embellished with the same lace flowers that were on her bodice.

Tom had arrived at the church with his groomsmen in a pristine retro VW campervan. Tom was calm and collected as he stood at the top of the aisle, he was not at all phased by the packed church full of guests behind him and stood patiently for his gorgeous bride! Ella looked incredible as she walked in, she walked gracefully down the long aisle to Tom with the biggest grin on her face, you could tell they were both so ready for this moment and couldn’t wait to commit their lives to one another. Throughout the ceremony Ground Films captured the beautiful and meaningful readings that family members read as well as the accompaniment – Ella’s bridesmaid Lucy singing with a harpist. Even the ceremony captured Ella and Toms incredible fun-loving personalities, as Ella had charged her bridesmaids with musical shakers which they shook throughout the ceremony’s songs. Before they knew it, they were officially married and were exiting the gorgeous traditional church as Husband and Wife. As wedding videographers, we captured Ella and Tom being showered in confetti as they got into their classic wedding car.

The couple made their way back to Wotton House for a gorgeous reception with their family and friends, they made the most impressive entrance sitting on the back of the car as they approached all their guests.

The reception was decorated to perfection at Wotton House in Surrey, with fairy light draping, the biggest, most impressive seating chart we have ever seen, spectacular flower arrangements and personalised Mr and Mrs balloons. Speeches were performed first by Ella’s very proud Dad, Tom and his Best Man. Ella’s Dad recounted stories of Ella growing up, referencing her incredible personality, Tom told stories of how they first got together, and their most treasured memories and Toms Best Man talked about Tom’s love for cars and the memories they have had involving cars over the years!

After dinner we took some incredible couple shots of Ella and Tom enjoying each other’s company in the stunning and grand grounds. The impressive pillars and water fountain made the most spectacular backdrop for couple shots. Ella’s laugh is so infectious, myself and Tina (The Vedrines Photo) couldn’t resist laughing with her! As wedding videographers, we were also incredibly lucky to capture the last moments of the sunset poking through the trees at Wotton House. Ella and Tom were so natural at taking photos that the shots look so effortless in their wedding film above.

To kick start the evenings antics Tom and Ella cut their gigantic, jaw dropping cake and Ella’s nans also cut her birthday cake as everyone sang to her. Ella and Tom then took to the dance floor for their first dance where they just let loose and danced away. After an outfit change into a head-to-toe sparkling dress that was much easier to dance in and her epic Bride hat, the parting started accompanied by an incredible saxophonist. Ella being the queen of the dance floor, we suspect danced until the night was over – just how it is meant to be.
