Tell us about where and when you first both first met and What were your first impressions of each other when you first met?
We met at a mutual friends Wedding in November 2013 - Iain's first impressions of me weren't great given my inebriated state! He was driving that night so he was stone cold sober. I was trying to get him to give me and two of my friends a lift home which we was refusing to do so we thought he was a bit of a git! But after a bit of perseverance he eventually gave in and gave us a lift. When we got back we had a proper conversation (me trying my best to act sober) and we realised we actually had lots in common and a very similar sense of humour!
Tell us about who proposed to who and where did it happen?
Iain proposed to me in Santorini, one of the most romantic places we've visited, however his proposal wasn't all that romantic after I managed to spoil it!! In true Soph/Iain style the proposal wasn't smooth by any stretch of the imagination... we were in a rather dingy bar (no sunset in sight) and I was probing him about the strange shaped hexagonal object showing through the pockets of his shorts...Needless to say, he thought at that moment that I knew what it was and I was hinting - that and the anxiety forced him to decide that there and then was his moment! It still makes us laugh to this day... but very typical of us - a romantic, scripted proposal in front of one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world just wouldn't feel right somehow!
Give us three words each to describe each other and what they mean to you?
Bride: Unique, Quirky, Beautiful
Groom: Loving, Fun, Selfless
How did you find and choose your wedding venue, Agroturismo Can Gall Ibiza?
Lots of research! We knew what we wanted but couldn't find it in the UK. We decided to broaden our search to the Balearics which we felt were accessible to our guests if we decided to have a destination wedding. After searching online I came across Can Gall and the incredible reviews of not only the venue but Santi (the owner) and his team. We decided to make the trip to Ibiza one November weekend and we lined up a few places to see, but I already knew I loved Can Gall and it was perfect for us. As soon as we arrived, Santi showed us around, I kept my excitement to myself so as not to get my hopes up. When the tour finished and Santi went off to get the Cava, Iain just looked at me and said I LOVE IT! And it was literally the most perfect venue, more than we could ever have imagined! They accommodated us from Thursday to Monday, they hosted delicious meals at the venue for our immediate wedding party who were staying there, and had all 100 or so guests back to the venue the day after the wedding for a BBQ and pool party. It was a dream weekend!!
Tell us about your wedding dress; the designer, how long it took you to find the one?
I did the classic...went for something completely different to what I thought I wanted. Literally on the same day as deciding I had found 'the one', later that day I attended another appointment that I had already committed to even though I was convinced I had found my dress that morning...only to try something on I would never have chosen and the girl's faces just said it all. I returned home, and that was the dress I couldn't stop thinking about... and the rest is history! It was a Mikaella dress and was totally perfect for the venue and the vibe of the wedding. I didn't want to take it off!
Tell us about what the Groomsmen wore?
We kept is simple since we couldn't be with them to shop/choose (living in Dubai) and decided on a Moss Boss suit. The Groom however had a suit made in Dubai and we jammilly managed to get the colour almost spot on!
Was there any surprises? Tell us more..
for me, a bridesmaids speech about me! And for Iain a watch (which he actually knew about but pretended he didn't so not much of a surprise actually!) I guessed the denim jacket I had made was a sort of surprise for him too, to show off how proud I was to be his wife!
Did you have any readings and if so, why did you pick them?
We did - 3. The first was Iain's mum, Carole, who delivered a lovely reading about a mother and her son which she tweaked. The second was my Godfather, Tony, who we asked to read the lyrics of a Louis Armstrong song, a favourite for my late dad, and the third was a mutual friend, Betty, who read a paragraph from Dolly Atherton's Everything I Know About Love with some adjustments so it was personal to us.
Tell us about the finishing touches like favours, sweet carts etc & name any suppliers & companies that helped make your perfect wedding day come true: Every supplier was just amazing!

What was your favourite part of your wedding day at Agroturismo Can Gall Ibiza?
It sounds cliche but honestly all of it - from prep first thing, to getting ready, to the ceremony, the dinner, the speeches, first dance, dancing the night away...literally all of nit, we can't decide!!
Was there any funny moments that you will always remember at your wedding at Agroturismo Can Gall Ibiza?
We were given the lead singer's feather headdress at the end of the band set, which I quickly handed over to my new husband - he got totally into character on the bongos and started jumping around - one of those had to have been there moments I guess but a vision I will never forget!
Why did you choose us , destination videographers Ground Films to film your wedding video in Ibiza? and what did you think of your experience being filmed? We researched high and low! This was something that Iain was keen to lead on and wanted to get it right. Being the creative one of the two of us, he knew exactly what he wanted and your cinematic style ticked all the boxes.
Any advice for future wedding couples thinking about having their special day filmed by destination videographers Ground Films? Do it, do it, do it - photographs are great but they don't capture everything and there is nothing better than reliving your day through video footage for years to come!
