Katie & George's Wedding film at Skylark

After 7 years together, many spontaneous trips, several houses, and one massive Dane, Katie and George finally got married at the beautiful Hampshire golf course ‘Skylark’.

Katie spent the morning getting ready at her beautiful family home, with her dad, mum, brother, and best friends. Katie being hugely family orientated wanted to make sure that those closest to her were around in the morning to calm her nerves and crack a few jokes, and it is safe to say both were achieved. Tom, being Katies best friend and brother couldn’t be more helpful during the morning preparations; sorting out drinks, music, bag transportation – you name it, he was on it!

Katie gave her dad some gorgeous gifts, which led to heart-warming tears and hugs. Being a family run business, Ground Films loves to see and capture these previous moments where Dads prepare to give their beautiful daughters away.

Katie wore a stunning sheath style wedding dress which had beautiful lace embellished sleeves and an elegant belt. She wore her hair in an up-do, adorned with a pearl headband to showcase the gorgeous sheer lace panelling on her back. As Wedding Videographers, we love to capture these details so you can really appreciate the beauty of it all and take everything in.

The sun was shining, the skies were blue and the long driveway into Skylark was epic, so much so Katie and her dad had to drive around it three times as they were early and not everyone was seated yet – at least George has a punctual wife!

As soon as Katie met George’s gaze at the end of the aisle there was nothing but enormous smiles from them both for the rest of the day. Katie and George had waited so long for this moment, it was finally here, and it couldn’t be any more perfect. As award winning wedding videographers, we love to capture any accompaniment during couples’ ceremonies, but it was even more apt that we captured the harpist at Katie and Georges wedding being one of their friends.

As wedding videographers, we love to capture some couple shots during the drink’s reception. We took Katie and George to this beautiful, wooded area of Skylarks golf course where we got some stunning shots of them in the softened light and picturesque landscape.

After afternoon tea canapes and a fair few gins, it was time for the speeches. George, his best man and Katies dad, all performed speeches, each one of them creating authentic laughs and recalling special and unforgettable memories. One key topic that was hugely talked about was this couple’s spontaneity: booking holidays last minute, getting massive dogs in the spur of the moment and viewing and buying a house before anyone knew they were looking! I think it is safe to say that this couple will never lead a boring life and will make endless fun, explorative and adventurous memories together.

After dinner and an unexpected rain shower, we managed to capture the last moments of the sunset! One of our favourite locations at Skylark Golf and Country Club is the line of four trees that stand on a small hill – this was the perfect location to capture the couple with the setting sun behind them! You can see all these stunning shots within Katie and Georges wedding film above.

The evening continued with: photobooths, sweet tables, endless cheeses, Mr and Mrs Colin the Caterpillar cakes and continuous dancing. The day had been everything they wished for, and we loved being a part of their day capturing all the precious memories, to enjoy for many years to come.
