Tell us about where and when you first both first met and What were your first impressions of each other when you first met?
We first met at the gym ! Evolution strength and fitness in January 2016.
Terry: I thought she was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen and when we spoke for the first time I thought she was the sweetest person too.
Kate: Initially I thought Terry was just a very large man who made a lot of racket when he was training in the gym ! When we spoke I realised he was super shy but incredibly sweet and kind. A very inspiring human being too.
Tell us about who proposed to who and where did it happen?
Terry proposed in Las Vegas after I competed at my first Olympia. It was an eventful evening that didn't quite go to plan in Terry's eye but for me it was perfect.
Give us three words each to describe each other and what they mean to you?
Bride: Kind, Loving and Determined - Terry is such a sweet, gentle giant who's kind and loving nature makes me love him more and more each day. His determination and passion is something I find extremely attractive and motivating as it's something we very much share. He is my husband, my best friend, my biggest fan and I am his. He is my everything. I will do my very best to ensure he knows this loud and clear every single day.
Groom: Beautiful, Kind and Driven - Kate means the world to me. I cannot put into words how much of a positive impact she has had on my life. I spent many years lost and confused as to what was truly important in life and after I fell in love I knew I had found my purpose. I will always be eternally grateful for meeting Kate as she has changed my outlook on life and helped me become the man I always should have been. It took me 37 years to meet the person that can bring out the best in me but it was worth the wait. The love we have is the stuff of fairy tales and I'm so lucky to have found that. Not a day will ever pass where I wont tell her how much I love her and will always do my best to show her too.
How did you find and choose your Kent wedding venues filmed by West Sussex Videographers, Ground Films? We wanted a small, intimate wedding that had meaning. We live in Maidstone and the Archbishops Palace is right in the heart of the town. It is so picturesque and somewhere we can frequent often or drive past which makes us smile every time we do. Mumu for the breakfast and party was perfect as we also have a very close connection to this quirky venue which suited us perfectly. Tell us about your wedding dress featured in your Kent Wedding Video; the designer, how long it took you to find the one?
My wedding dress was from Dress Dreams Bridal in Sevenoaks and the designer was Riki Dalal. My dress was called Ophelia and was from the Noya Collection. Dress Dreams is the only wedding dress boutique I went to! I knew as soon as I arrived that this was the perfect place for me to find my dream dress. The staff were so helpful and made me feel like royalty. After agreeing on a Riki Dalal masterpiece, I had so much fun trying on so many unique styles of dress. In the end it was clear that Princess dress was the way to go and as soon as I put on my gown I felt exactly like a fairy-tale princess. Tell us about what the Groomsmen wore featured in your Kent Wedding Video? Terry wore a blue suit by BadRhino, a clothing company that specialises in clothes for bigger men. The pink tie and socks were a must as it's both of our favourite colour. The two little page boys also wore blue and pink with matching shoes and looked utterly adorable. Was there any surprises featured in your Kent Wedding Video? Tell us more.. no surprises as such except perhaps the last minute Whitney routine the bride and bridesmaids busted out after the first dance ! That took a lot of planning... the whole night before the wedding in the hot tub to be exact ! Did you write your own vows?
No... we tell each other all that soppy stuff all the time so we wanted to keep it quite traditional. Did you have any readings featured in your Kent Wedding Video and if so, why did you pick them?
Yes my sister, Maid of Honour wrote her own poem, as did my nephew, Teddy. I chose them because they are two of the closest people in my life and I knew they would feel honoured to have such an important role and moment on my special day. Their words were so moving and heart felt and for me that was one of my highlights of the whole day. Tell us about the finishing touches featured in your Kent Wedding Video, like favours, sweet carts etc & name any suppliers & companies that helped make your perfect wedding day come true
Photographer - The Vedrines who were absolutely incredible. The perfect style to capture all the genuine, real moments of the day. Make-up Artist and Hair - Raji Lall who I have known for years made me look and feel like an absolute superstar. Transport - You mean my little Pink Fiat 500 ?! Wedding Cake - Red Velvet cake from Harrods, Doughnuts from Doughnut Time and cupcakes made by Terry's mum, Kath with little dumbbells and our initials. So adorable. What was your favourite part of your wedding day filmed by West Sussex Videographers, Ground Films?
Eating the cake !!! No of course... just standing there hand in hand getting married to each other.
Was there any funny moments that you will always remember filmed by West Sussex Videographers, Ground Films?
My sister dancing like a lunatic, my sisters emotional but hilarious speech, and going to the toilet backwards in my ginormous dress ! Oh and talking of ginormous... squishing Terry and myself in to my tiny, little, pink car after the ceremony ! Why did you choose us, West Sussex Videographers, Ground Films to film your wedding and what did you think of your experience being filmed?
I have always wanted you guys to be the filmmakers for my wedding day before I even met Terry. I liked the unique style and the cinematic feel and watching your films always brought me to tears. I hardly noticed you guys there (which I think is a good thing!) So I have no idea what to expect ! Any advice for future wedding couples thinking about having their special day filmed by West Sussex Videographers, Ground Films?
To make sure you choose something that feels special to you. If you have an emotional connection with the films you watch then you should go with your gut and book that person ! You only have one chance !
