Gin Lovers Nicki and Tom got married at Kingscote Barn in the heart of the Cotswolds on the 2nd of October 2021.
Nicki and Tom met in 2014 when they both started their first day at their new job, which they both relocated to London for. After a year of being colleagues they started dating and ever since they have made it their mission to go to every Jazz bar they can possibly find on their travels. In their quest they went to New York in 2019 and on this holiday, Tom popped the question to Nicki in Central Park. Throughout their relationship they have shared endless adventures together from long walks with their dog to their regular Friday beers.
Ground Films captured their stunning day at Kingscote Barn set in 400 acres of the Cotswold Hills. Nicki got ready with her best friends, her mum and Tom’s mum. She was incredibly chilled out so much so her and her friends danced in their underwear when a particular song came on – a tradition since uni. She wore a stunning one-of-a-kind dress that was specifically designed for her. It had a beautiful blush pink silk underlay that effortlessly fell with a lace over lay bodice with long sleeves. To match the subtle blush colour of her skirt Nicki wore velvet pink heels with pearl detailing. Nicki’s hair was beautifully crafted into an updo adorned with a autumnal flower crown that picked up the marrons and greenery seen in abundance throughout their ceremony and reception spaces.
As wedding videographers, we feel it is important to capture the ceremony in all its glory before any guests arrive. It was decked out beautifully, with this incredible display of foliage that framed the top of the aisle, and massive vintage milk churns filled with autumnal flowers either side of the aisle and festoon lighting draped across the room above. The entrance to the barn followed in suit, with hay bales creating a cosy nook, a make your own gin bar set up on a trailer and a photobooth.
Ground Films captured Nicki’s bridesmaids walk down the aisle in their stunning maroon dresses followed by Nicki and her dad. She greeted Tom at the top of the aisle with a massive smile. West Sussex wedding videographers captured two beautiful readings throughout the ceremony conducted by two of Nicki and Toms closest friends.
Although the rain persisted throughout the day it was never going to stop this couple from having the most amazing time with their friends and family. The atmosphere was electric as they shared celebratory drinks with everyone during their drink’s reception. As wedding videographers, we always suggest that couples have some time away from everyone whether that be during some couple photos or a quiet drink somewhere as it gives them time to process everything and enjoy each other’s company. Nicki and Tom took some time out together to eat their canapes and enjoy a drink quietly during the drink’s reception, which was lovely.
Whilst everyone was taking full advantage of the gin bar, the barn was being transformed into the rustic reception of dreams, with long trestle tables lined with endless glass vases of stunning autumnal arrangements interspersed with candles. Ground Films captured Nicki and Toms impressive 3-tiered cake made by their dear friend, which comprised of three flavours and was perfectly embellished with more stunning florals.
Nicki and Tom enjoyed an incredible feast with their friends and family, which arrived on wooden platters in abundance. Full with lots of yummy food they sat down to enjoy speeches from Nicki’s dad who talked about her love for ballet, tap and go karting as she grew up. Tom and Nicki also decided to do a speech together where they talked about their incredible adventures together and Tom’s habit of crashing cars into gates at a very slow speed!! Toms best man, a childhood friend who is the complete opposite to Tom finished the speeches with lots of jokes, which filled the room with laughter, all of which Ground Films, wedding videographers captured.
The night ended with sparklers and Nicki and Toms first dance. Everyone continued to party the night away to the amazing live band and fill their boots with more gin!
