Lewis and Samantha first met at Crawley college when they were 17. Whilst studying they were the best of friends and often Lewis had to help Sam with coursework, but unfortunately, he left the college, and they lost touch until 4 years later. In 2013 Lewis and Samantha got back in touch on Facebook and soon after rekindled over a drink at a local pub, since then there’s been a very few days they have spent apart!
After 7 years together and creating a beautiful family of 4, (later to become 5), Lewis proposed in 2020 during lockdown. Lewis had planned to take Sam to The Shard in London for dinner however Lily who was one at the time, was in the care of Great Ormond Street due to a large aneurysm on her brain. She unfortunately was having regular seizures due this and, on the morning Lewis had planned to take Sam to dinner Lily unfortunately had another seizure so they understandably couldn’t make the Shard. The next day Sam was washing up in the kitchen (marigolds and all) and Lewis came in saying we had to talk, she started to worry trying to think if she’d done anything haha! Lewis took her in to the lounge and sat Sam down, Sam proceeded to then make Lewis sit down as he was just standing there and that's when he got down on one knee and proposed. “I never in a million years would have seen it coming.” It was such an intimate and special proposal which had the pair both in tears! It was such a hard time for them all with what Lily was going through and this just filled them all with such happiness and hope. Sam says she’s not sure how she didn't realise that something was going on as just before Lewis proposed he said he was going out to the shop to get some food, but he didn't come back with anything - he'd in fact gone to her parents’ house to ask Samantha’s Dad before he proposed!
This leads us nicely into Samantha and Lewis wedding day, 9 years after getting together at the most spectacular Farbridge. Wedding Videographers, Ground Films were there to capture the whole thing. Samantha spent the morning getting ready in Fishbourne at the most tranquil and picturesque cottage, surrounded by lots of wildlife for the kiddies to marvel at. The sun was shining brightly and Samantha was relaxed as she was having her hair and makeup done by the incredible @gavinharviehair and @nadiaharpermua. Samantha went for a stunning Hollywood wave with lots of definition and height, which went perfectly with her striking A-line dress with an effortless tulle skirt and a deep v neckline that mimicked the back. She looked beautifully classic and striking. Soon she made her way to the beautiful Farbridge, surrounded by acres of the glorious Sussex countryside, emblazoned with hundreds of furry sheep friends and their precious lambs for the finishing touches and to enjoy a glass of bubbles to calm those pre-ceremony nerves whilst Lewis got ready into his light grey tweed three-piece suit, embellished with a dusty pink tie. He then proceeded to get his gorgeous little son, Harrison into his suit to match daddy!
After building the suspense and leaving Lewis at the alter as their beautiful bubba Maisie needed a bottle, the ceremony was underway. West Sussex wedding videographers, Ground Films captured Harrison and Lily as they held hands and walked down the aisle towards Daddy followed by the bridesmaids and baby Maisie. Samantha then walked arm in arm with her dad as she proudly approached her soon to be husband, Lewis. The couple devoted their lives to one another, making tear jerking promises to one another and sealing their love with a kiss. The newlyweds then walked out as a family with their three beautiful children, setting everyone off with tears including us at Ground Films. You can truly see how Sam and Lewis devote everything to their stunning family and how much fun they have in the process.
Samantha who has her own stationary company @sageandlilypaperco created the most stunning décor which was featured throughout her wedding day. Award winning wedding videographers, Ground Films captured it all throughout the stunning tables which were adorned with gorgeous white and dusty pink flowers and candles, creating an intimacy to the large barn.
Just before dinner West Sussex wedding videographers, Ground Films and White Stag Photography were able to capture Samantha and Lewis together around the stunning grounds at Farbridge whilst their guests took to their seats for the speeches. You can see just how besotted they are with each other in the shots we captured, Lewis never failing to hold his bride’s hand and planting kisses on her spontaneously.
Lewis’s dad, Sam’s dad, and Lewis himself performed heart-warming speeches all of which you can hear throughout their Ground Films wedding film above. It was then time to eat and enjoy the homemade bread that Lewis had booked Farbridge for (hahaha). The couple spent time going around to their guests and celebrating this official joining together they achieved today. They finished the evening by having a magical first dance which had a lot of the guests in tears, in particular Lewis’s brother – as you can see within their wedding film, produced by Ground Films. Their gorgeous kids, Lily and Harrison joined them on the dance floor for an evening of dancing and wearing out their grandparents, by making them spin them around until their legs were jelly! It was the most perfect ending to a beautiful day that the whole family will treasure for the rest of their lives, and we at Ground Films are so privileged to have been able to witness and capture such an occasion.
