‘Love at First Flight’
Sanne and Nic got married on the 15th of April 2022 at the incredible Goodwood House. Set in the West Sussex countryside embedded by endless fields, surrounded by sheep and sound-tracked by the passing of regular planes this was the most perfect venue for two pilots.
Sanne and Nic met when they were both training to be pilots in Arizona, Nic was visiting friends for an evening BBQ and Sanne happened to be there. They immediately hit it off and ever since they have continued to make indescribable memories together. As a couple they have conquered multiple challenges like living in different countries, have leant on each other in times of need and have quite literally travelled the world. Being pilots, it is a luxury for both Sanne and Nic to get a Sunday off, so they always take the opportunity to take their gorgeous Cocker Spaniel Harry for a beautiful countryside walk, Nic on this occasion decided to pop the question and the pair then went and celebrated by making a roast together and celebrating with their friends at home.
West Sussex wedding videographers, Ground Films, captured Sanne and Nic getting ready at ‘Hound Lodge’ on the impeccable Goodwood estate during the morning of their wedding. Sanne was accompanied by her beautiful mum and her closest friends and family. Ground Films captured Sanne’s hair being perfectly crafted into a braided half up, half down hairstyle, beautifully adorned with gypsophila. Sanne got into her stunning satin a-line off the shoulder dress with the help from her maid of honour, Ground Films made sure to capture it all. Whilst Sanne was getting ready, Nic went to The Kennels for lunch with his groomsmen in the glorious sunshine.
As West Sussex wedding videographers we love to capture the moment when the bride walks down the aisle, Sanne was arm in arm with her dad as she walked into the stunning ornate ballroom at Goodwood House. She was greeted with huge smiles from both her Dutch and English family and friends. During the ceremony the couple made their vows to one another and sealed them with their stunning engraved rings (which you can see in their wedding film) delivered to them by their very well-trained dog – Harry.
The pair celebrated with their friends with continual top ups of champagne at the front of the grand house. The sun was shining strongly, and the guests mimicked the cloudless blue sky in their array of blue outfits. Just before the speeches and dinner we had the pleasure of capturing Sanne and Nic in the most incredible estate lined with trees and pristine grass. As award winning wedding videographers, we love to capture all the little details that take so long to plan within a wedding, especially when they look as amazing as they did in the very spectacular Goodwood House. As the wedding guests entered the stunning reception hall which was beautifully emblazoned with candles and stunning floral arrangements, they were entertained by the most incredible wedding band – The Function Band, creating the most incredible environment for the newlyweds to enter into.
Some brilliant speeches were performed all of which you can hear throughout the couples wedding film above, including a beautiful testament from Nic who spoke Dutch describing how Sanne was a flower and how he would nurture her, so she continues to blossom. This undoubtedly led to lots of watery eyes and created the most beautiful atmosphere.
During dinner The Function Band performed more songs whilst the guests ate – soon everyone was on their feet dancing and singing with them, having the most wonderful time – Ground Films captured it all. After dinner the newlyweds, Sanne and Nic, proceeded to cut their most insane 4-tiered cake and walked through a tunnel of sparklers at the front of the English house before they proceeded to dance the night away to the incredible band.
During the evening, Sanne and Nic enjoyed their intimate first dance, and then enjoyed the most memorable performance from Sanne’s mother who sang for the couple, followed by a father daughter dance and an evening of incredible entertainment.
