On 26.09.21 Sophie and Dean celebrated their first wedding anniversary with all their family and friends at Larmer Tree wedding venue, set in the heart of the Dorset countryside. The couple were finally able to have the full celebration and party they so desperately deserved with all their loved ones and Ground Films were there to capture it all.
Sophie and Dean met when they both attended Bestival with their mutual friends – Jack and Jo, they hit it off straight away having a shared interest in music. Dean made Sophie laugh endlessly throughout that trip and 9 years on, he continues to make her cackle just as much. Since then, they have shared many nights out together with their friend’s enjoying music and a few drinks, created endless nicknames for each other, composed some questionable songs together whilst they cook and been on a fair few spontaneous camping trips with their precious doggy, Margot – this pair are truly meant for each other.
Ground Films captured the pair getting ready at a nearby holiday cottage, set in a beautiful countryside village surrounded by endless fields. They were joined by their families who had a leisurely morning in each other’s company. As Sophie and Dean were already married, they decided to help each other get ready for their celebration – this was a first for wedding videographers Ground Films and we were so excited to share the morning with them both. Sophie had long hair for their first wedding celebration and so this time she had hit cut into a stunning and striking bob. It was curled and pinned with pearlescent slides that beautifully matched her precious back necklace. Her makeup was finished with a stunning matt red lip which suited Sophie so perfectly. She wore the most incredible long line flowing dress, that had beautiful lace sleeves and a stunning low back. Sophie helped Dean put on his navy-blue suit, being an excellent wife, she smoothed out the creases and straightened his tie up as she went – Dean who was nervous when he did this alone for their first wedding celebration was put at complete ease having his stunning wife by his side this time.
The couple had the most incredible blessing in front of a stunning and ornate building in the Larmer Tree grounds, surrounded by wildlife, greenery, and a gentle breeze. Sophie and Dean being a fun-loving couple had created the most epic ceremony set up with massive white balloons lining the aisle, they were also able to arrange for the guests to have cocktails during the blessing, which isn’t allowed during a normal ceremony, creating another personal and unique touch to their day. Sophies dad walked her halfway down the long aisle, with the elaborate building where the couple legally got married, the year prior, as the backdrop. Dean met Sophie halfway up the aisle and they walked the rest of the way hand in hand as husband and wife – a beautiful testament to the endless support they give each other in their marriage. The blessing was beautifully personalised – with their friends Jack and Jo performing a poem written by them and their good friend performing the blessing. It was full of endless laughter, personal words and inside jokes, making it truly rememberable and unique.
Ground Films adored how special and different this wedding celebration was – the couple continued to change traditions by performing their speeches at the end of their outside wedding blessing. Sophie surprised Dean with a heartfelt speech which left watery eyes all around. Dean expressed his love for Sophie and their weird and wonderful ways and in Dean fashion added some jokes!
The couple enjoyed spending time with their friends and family in the epic Larmer Tree grounds, accompanied by an incredible DJ, Saxophonist and more of those delicious cocktails. You could tell that the couple had friends with the same fun-loving energy as them, when we captured guests on bouncy hoppers, competitively playing badminton and croquet and creating funny guest messages for the couple to watch.
Ground Films, wedding videographers were able to capture some beautiful couple shots as Sophie and Deans guests made their way to the reception in the impressive grounds at Lamer Tree. The gardens were beautifully preened and looked after making everywhere an incredible backdrop for the couple to stand in front of.
The couple then sat down to their unbelievable veggie Mexican dinner with their friends and family in their stunningly decorated reception. Sophie had designed a spectacular room with pops of orange and burgundy. The tables were lined with endless flowers that looked breath taking in the candlelight.
After a tasty meal the couple took to the dance floor where wedding videographers, Ground Films captured them have their first dance as Mr and Mrs. Sophie and Dean being regular festival goers knew how to throw a party – there was even a glitter painter. Sophie changed into the most stunning sequin dress that shone beautifully in the lights and looked spectacular in the night shot we captured! After Dean checked them in for their flight they had the next day realising they were going somewhere different to what they expected, the couple partied hard and enjoyed creating more memories with their friends.
