Stansted Park Wedding Video | Hampshire Wedding Videographers

Tell us about where and when you first both first met and What were your first impressions of each other when you first met?

We met in one of our frequented bars, 90 Degrees, Southampton, on Easter Sunday 2014. One of Ellis's friends was chatting up one of Kathryn's friends and so we ended up talking. We only spoke for a short while and did not exchange numbers so neither of us thought anything of it until Ellis managed to locate Kathryn's Facebook profile and sent her a message asking for her number. For some reason Kathryn found this message endearing and not stalker-ish at all!

Tell us about who proposed to who and where did it happen?

Ellis surprised Kathryn with a weekend trip to Edinburgh for her birthday in October 2017 - a location Kathryn had always wanted to go. We had a lovely day out for Kathryn's birthday and Ellis got down on one knee to propose on a walk through the park.  Give us three words each to describe each other and what they mean to you?

Bride: Beautiful, ambitious and loyal.

Groom: Loving, thoughtful and handsome

How did you find and choose your wedding venue, Stansted Park Wedding Venue Hampshire?

St Mary's Church, where we got married is the same church that Kathryn was christened and that her parents got married in 30 years ago so has a special meaning for her. It is also a lovely setting as it is in the ruins of an old castle.

The reception venue, Stansted Park is local to us and a location where we have been to a few times for events such as their Chrismas Fayre and we love it there as it has a beautiful house and grounds.

Tell us about your wedding dress; the designer, how long it took you to find the one featured in your Stansted Park Wedding Video?

My wedding dress was designed by Martina Liana from Minster Designs. I had tried on a few dresses in different shops before but I knew instantly that this was the one as soon as I tried it on and from my mum and sister's reactions to it as well!

Tell us about what the Groomsmen wore featured in your Stansted Park Wedding Video?

The groomsmen wore grey morning suits with a tweed waistcoat and tie from Cameron Ross.

Was there any surprises? Tell us more..

We both surprised each other with gifts in the morning. We also had his and her cocktails for all or our guests as part of a happy hour after dinner and a surprisingly good best man speech!

Did you have any readings and if so, why did you pick them?

As it was a church we had a Bible reading, Ecclesiastes 4:12 which is about the strength found in relationships. We also had a reading from Jane Eyre which is Kathryn's favourite book of all time and also a poem called The Vow by Wendy Cope which we both loved because it is so honest and real.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day at Stansted Park Wedding Venue?

It is hard to pick a favourite part as it was such a lovely day but probably seeing each other for the first time at the church and saying our vows but also having all our friends and family together to celebrate together and seeing them having such a good time!

Was there any funny moments that you will always remember featured in your Stansted Park Wedding Video??

It was really windy on the day and Ellis found seeing people arriving at the church trying to hold on to their hats pretty amusing - Kathryn also almost lost her veil several times!

Why did you choose us to film your wedding and what did you think of your experience being filmed by Hampshire Wedding Videographers Ground Films?

We looked at different videographers' portfolios and loved the cinematic style of Ground Films which we thought was beautiful. We watched some of their other videos on their website and found ourselves feeling emotional even though we didn't know the couples! We did not find it awkward at all being filmed and really enjoyed the experience.

Any advice for future wedding couples thinking about having their special day filmed by Hampshire Wedding Videographers Ground Films ?

We were not sure whether to get a videographer at all as we would have photos taken, but we are so glad we did. It is amazing to have something to keep and reminisce about the day. The day goes by in such a flash and the video captures the day in so much detail and also moments that you might have missed.
