A beautiful summer wedding video at Avington Park, Winchester for Jon and Katie.
Tell us about where and when you first both first met and What were your first impressions of each other when you first met?
We were meeting friends on oxford street. Jon fancied Katie straight away, Katie needed some convincing after some clumsy first words from Jon.... Jon asked his friend to set up a group WhatsApp so he could get Katie’s number and the rest is history.
Tell us about who proposed to who and where did it happen?
Jon proposed to Katie in Santorini. Having arranged a change of hotel, Jon rushed back to the room after dinner to surprise Katie who was greeted by candles and rose petals. Jon lead Katie outside and it was on the private terrace with the sun setting that Jon proposed.
Give us three words each to describe each other and what they mean to you?
Bride. ‘ Those beautiful eyes’ It was the first thing that I loved about Katie from the minute I first met her.
Groom: Caring, romantic, loving - will do anything for anyone and kind hearted. He is my knight in shining armour.
How did you find and choose your wedding venue, Avington Park Winchester?
Like most things we started with a wish list, Katie wanted a traditional Manor House with an immediate wow factor, Jon wanted a venue with water. We were resigned that we wouldn’t find anywhere until Jon found Avington Park online and arranged a visit on the way back to London one weekend. From the moment we drove through the gates we had no doubt in our minds that this was the place we wanted to get married.
Tell us about your wedding dress you wore on your Hampshire wedding video; the designer, how long it took you to find the one?
The designer of Katie’s wedding dress is Ronald Joyce. I always had in my mind what I wanted and it was the 3rd shop I went to where I found “the one”. It was just my Mum and I together when we went to the shop, so it was a very special moment.
Tell us about what the Groomsmen wore on the Hampshire Wedding Video?
Jon wanted traditional tails to match the venue. These were hired from Young’s suit hire who had a concession in Debenhams.
Was there any surprises in your Hampshire Wedding Video? Tell us more..
Katie bought Jon some personalised Tiffany cufflinks and Jon got Katie some diamond earrings to wear on the day.
Katie’s grandad who was unable to attend, wrote a letter to be read out on the day by Katie’s brother which took us by surprise.
For the guests we kept the fireworks secret.
Did you write your own vows in your Hampshire Wedding Video?
We chose our own vows from the list provided by the registrar. We wanted to keep them as simple but romantic as possible.
Did you have any readings and if so, why did you pick them?
We had a reading called 2 Penguins. It was something we both saw before we got married and knew that if one day we did get married, that we would like it read out at our wedding. It is the story of 2 penguins who travel far and wide to find each other and when they do they vow to never let each other go.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day at Avington Park, Winchester?

For Katie because it was the first time seeing everyone and her husband waiting for her. For Jon it was because Katie looked so beautiful and he couldn’t believe that this was going to be his wife.
Was there any funny moments that you will always remember in your Hampshire wedding video?
Katie getting Jon’s middle name wrong, something which she’s never going to live down.
Why did you choose us, Hampshire Wedding Videographers to film your wedding and what did you think of your experience being filmed?
The way the trailers and films were put together captured the wedding days exactly as we wanted. Watching other people’s wedding videos on your website made us feel so emotional as if we were part of their day and made Katie cry. We felt completely relaxed around you both and did make us feel like celebrities!

We would definitely recommend getting your wedding filmed because the day goes so quickly and it is such a special thing to watch back and keep forever.
