Ground Films | West Sussex Wedding Videographer

Tell us about where and when you first both first met and What were your first impressions of each other when you first met?

We met through Kieran’s sister who is Tyne’s best friend. Tyne had a long standing crush on Kieran and he waited until she moved to Dublin to reciprocate those feelings!!!  First impressions- Tyne’s -Kieran told me he was a heating a plumbing engineer which I thought was majorly impressive (posh name for plumber apparently!), he also made me feel like I was the only girl in the room from the moment we started to secretly fall in love, we hid it from Kieran’s family for a while as we didn’t want to upset his sister haha. Kieran’s - One of the first proper nights I spent with Tyne she walked into the kitchen swigging out of a Prosecco bottle with not a care in the world, at the point I new she was worth getting to know!!

Tell us about who proposed to who and where did it happen?

After 10 years together, Kieran proposed on Christmas Eve of 2017 in a converted barn in Somerset with candles lit everywhere, (unfortunately as it was such a surprise I walked in covered in mud after a long dog walk literally having no idea what was going on!) but I was magical :)

Give us three words each to describe each other and what they mean to you

Bride: Protective - Kieran would do anything to make sure me and lily are well looked after, loved and safe. Laid back - We call him the ‘in a minute man’ because he is never in a rush!Secure - He is always there when we need him.

Groom: Caring - Tyne would do anything she can for those around her. Loyal - she is always there for me her friends and family not only when we need it the most but also just to check in day to day. Funny - Although she also thinks she’s hilarious! She is often the source of inside jokes due to something she has said without thinking or realising what she has said.

How did you find and choose your wedding venue, Goring Castle West Sussex?

It was a local venue that we went to see and instantly loved it. It felt very intimate although it was big enough to fit all of our guests!

Tell us about your wedding dress; the designer, how long it took you to find the one featured in your wedding video at Goring Castle, West Sussex?

The designer was Sophia Tolli and I agonised over the dress! I tried on soooo many but the dress I wore was one of the first I tried on and nothing compared.

Tell us about what the Groomsmen wore featured in your wedding video at Goring Castle, West Sussex?

Kieran managed to find the only suit he liked on Instagram and the shop happened to be in Leeds!! They were a 3 piece blue tweed suit. Luckily the did free delivery ha.

Was there any surprises in your wedding video at Goring Castle, West Sussex?? Tell us more..

Tyne was going to keep her maiden name but decided the week before the wedding to become a Gaskell and kept it a surprise and gave Kieran cufflinks with the initials TG on them as a wedding gift.

Did you have any readings featured in your wedding video at Goring Castle, West Sussex and if so, why did you pick them?

Yes, Tyne’s brother did a reading which he wrote himself. He has been a published poet and knows us as a couple so well, it meant a lot to us.

Tell us about the finishing touches like favours, sweet carts etc & name any West Sussex suppliers & companies that helped make your perfect West Sussex Videographers wedding video come true:

The favours were a pin from cancer research, we have had some close family sadly pass away due to cancer so to make a donation and remember them at the same time was really special to us. We also included an Irish tradition of ringing the bells, this is said to bring peace and harmony to the newlyweds, this was also in memory of tunes grandparents. The flowers were made up of grandparents and parents favourite flowers. The songs throughout the day included both parents first wedding dance songs.

When the pronounced us husband and wife. (The nerves went out the window)

Was there any funny moments that you will always remember featured in your wedding video at Goring Castle, West Sussex??

Kieran forgot the registrars were waiting to interview him!

Why did you choose us, West Sussex Wedding Videographers to film your wedding and what did you think of your experience being filmed?

We chose you because we loved that you used sound as well as images, a lot of films I had seen were almost like a slide show with background music, yours was more like a film of the day. The experience was good, it actually gave us time to spend together although it did feel a bit out of the ordinary as neither is us are that natural in front of a camera!

Any advice for future wedding couples thinking about having their special day filmed by West Sussex Videographers Ground Films?

I would say defiantly do it, the reason we decided to to it was because Tyne’s parents had their wedding filmed and it was the first time I heard my grandmas voice as I was so young when she passed, I also feel like the day went by in a flash and can’t wait to see what you guys filmed to enjoy it all over again.
