A beautiful wedding video at Notley Abbey in Buckinghamshire for the gorgeous Nicole and Rick.
Tell us about where and when you first both first met and What were your first impressions of each other when you first met?
We met at a concert in 2014. I won tickets on the radio and Rick was there watching Olly. There was 16000 people there and somehow we caught each others eye. Our first impressions were overshadowed by our friends who spent the whole time arguing with each other.. or banter as they like to see it now. However I have just asked Rick and in his words "phwoar shes a sort" haha I do remember thinking he is extremely good looking and he had the charm to match. Rick and I let our friends carry on arguing and immediately hit it off talking to each other. Rick left the concert early and got half way out of the arena when he finally got the confidence to come back and ask for my number.
Tell us about who proposed to who and where did it happen?
My birthday was in the May of 2016 and Rick gave me a surprise trip away as a gift. I wasn't allow any detail apart from that we were going in June. When we arrived I realized where he had taken me. A lodge with an infinity view of the sea in Cornwall. I had seen the place on an Instagram page the year before and said how much I would love to go there one day. It was absolutely beautiful. The day after we arrived Rick told me that I had to be ready for dinner at 7pm as you can imagine i had a million questions about what to wear and where we were going. I got ready and just before we were set to leave a private chef arrived at the door. The chef cooked up a three course meal complete with edible flowers. I had noticed Rick getting a bit anxious sand i put it down to the fact that England were playing and he was missing it so I put the TV on for him and that seemed to settle him down. After the meal rick showed the chef out and he then said that he has another surprise and blindfolded me. He lead me out onto the decking and when he took the blindfold off me I was facing out to see surrounded by rose petals and lanterns. I turned around and Rick was down on one knee with the most beautiful sparkling diamond in his hand. Of course I said yes!!!!

Groom: Thoughtful, Loving, the best thing that's ever happened to me.
How did you find and choose your wedding venue, Notley Abbey in Buckinghamshire?
With the venue we didn't know where to start.. with Rick being from Essex and me being from Coventry even picking the location was a task. We decided to not decide on location and started looking at venues all over the country. We viewed a few locally but nothing really wowed us enough. We sat one Sunday afternoon scrolling through venues online and I came across Notley. We booked to see it the following week and as soon as we started the drive up to the abbey down the amazing driveway we were sold. It was everything we had imagined.
Tell us about your wedding dress; the designer, how long it took you to find the one?
I had been to a few shops and tried on every style imaginable but in my head I already had a good idea of what I wanted. After weeks of searching I found my dream dress online and hunted down a local stockest. We arrived at the dress shop and showed them the dress and I was absolutely gutted that they didn't have it in. The lady advised that there was only one sample dress available and she would have to fly it in from America... The dress arrived the following week and as soon as I tried it on I knew it was perfect. I did make a few changes to the dress including adding 3 foot to the train to give it the added wow factor. The Dress was - Martina Lianna 775.
Tell us about what the Groomsmen wore?
Rick had a custom made Tuxedo and black bow tie. We designed it together and added some personal touches - Just Married under the jacket collar, our initials and wedding date on the inside and the wedding date on his shirt cuff.
The boys and our dads also wore black tuxedos with double breasted dog-tooth waistcoats and black ties.
Was there any surprises? Tell us more..
Rick bought be a Rolex watch which I was absolutely gobsmacked about and our best men arranged for Sam Smith to do a video message for us which was extra special as I walked down the aisle to one of his songs.

For favours we had a wooden name plaque made for everyone which was rose gold to match out theme.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day at Notley Abbey Buckinghamshire?
The whole day was absolutely perfect. The ceremony was extra special as everyone was really emotional but the wedding breakfast has to be our favourite. Our musicians performed during the meal and everyone was up dancing and singing the whole time it was so different from any wedding I have been to before.
Was there any funny moments that you will always remember?
Our best Men's speech was absolutely hilarious. One of Ricks uncles was so drunk that he fell asleep for most of the evening. The evening turned into more of a Karaoke night with everyone wanting to grab the mic for a sing song.
Why did you choose us, Ground Films, West Sussex Wedding Videographers to film your wedding and what did you think of your experience being filmed?
We absolutely loved your style of filming from the videos we had watched on your website which was initially what made us choose you. Having experienced working with you guys you absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. Our one worry was that videoing could be quite intrusive but we can honestly say that half of the time we forgot it was being filmed and our guests felt the same.
Any advice for future wedding couples thinking about having their special day filmed by West Sussex wedding videographers.
100% have your day filmed. Photographs are timeless but nothing takes you back to your day like a video. It also captures moments that you miss as your day just flies by.
