We met at the gym 7 years ago. After smiling awkwardly at each other from across the room for a few months a mutual friend of ours who worked in the gym introduced us.

As guests arrived, they were greeted by the sight of the stunning courtyard, bathed in sunlight just at the right moment and beautifully adorned with floral arrangements from their wonderful friend and florist who has seeked refuge with their family from Ukraine and has become a much treasured member of the family. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with the soft rustling of leaves and the gentle hum of anticipation in the air whilst the crowd of loved ones eagerly awaited Katie’s entrance.

Tell us about who proposed to who and where did it happen?

Joe and I were on a cruise visiting Christmas markets around Europe in December 2022. Joe proposed in a cute little park in Bruges.

How did you find and choose your west sussex wedding venues?

We would have loved a French chateau style wedding but we knew all of our family wouldn’t be able to come if we got married abroad so we tried to find something just as beautiful in the UK and fell in love with every bit of Firle Place the second we saw it.

As dusk settled, the festivities continued with live music that had everyone on their feet. The Riding school was transformed into a lively dance floor, with twinkling fairy lights overhead and wonderful array of Olive trees, florals and evergreen foliage adorning the long trestle tables. The band played a mix of classic hits and the couple’s favourite tunes, ensuring that the energy never dipped and that every guest had a reason to dance.
